Shabnam Nag is a budding artist and storyteller who is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at the prestigious Emily Carr University in Vancouver. From a young age, Shabnam displayed a remarkable talent for art, participating in competitions and honing her skills as a visual artist. Growing up in a production house run by her parents, she was immersed in the world of film and learned the intricacies of editing and voice acting.
Shabnam’s artistic journey has been marked by numerous accomplishments. Her captivating paintings have been showcased in art exhibitions, earning her recognition and accolades in the art community. Additionally, she has showcased her talents as a filmmaker, having produced and directed a short film during her high school years. Her passion for storytelling led her to explore various roles within the industry.
Driven by her enthusiasm for film production, Shabnam gained invaluable experience as a trainee assistant director for the feature film “Freaks.” This opportunity allowed her to witness the filmmaking process firsthand and further fueled her desire to create compelling stories. In addition, she showcased her editing skills by working on an independent feature film titled “Lukim Yu.”
Shabnam’s talent and dedication were further recognized when she won a competition to produce an info-commercial called “School Work Bills,” raising awareness about student loans. The commercial was telecast on Shaw Access TV and received positive feedback from the audience. Notably, it was also praised by Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) at a preview organized by Emily Carr University, highlighting Shabnam’s ability to create impactful content.
